The Wall-holla….a funny name at first for a structure that will be a signature piece of the new playground next year at our Junior School...and for the next 15 years! We are building a playground that not only reflects our progressive nature, but a playground that will give The York School students countless hours of play for at least 15 years!

For those of you who do not know, the Wall-holla is a vertical structure that encourages children to explore different ways of navigating a multi-level maze while developing their problem solving and decision making abilities. It also increases the play surface of the Junior School Playground so that we can add a field for our Junior School Gladiators! When this custom made item arrives, it will be the 8th in North America! Originally designed in the Netherlands, The Wall-holla is the most popular element in many playgrounds all around the world, including Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Russia, Spain, Singapore and the US.

Whether our kids climb the Wall-holla, play ball on the field or find a place to read and reflect, the playground is being designed to be an inclusive space for all! To learn more and understand the rationale about the proposed elements of the playground on our website, visit www.reimagineplay.ca.

To date, we have raised 50% of our budget goal of $ 1.5 million but we need your support! We kindly ask that you assign your annual gift to the Junior School Playground. Every contribution helps this design become your child’s reality.

If you wish to learn more about the new playground, please email us at advancement@yorkschool.com.

Happy to connect over Recess!
