University of Amsterdam

University of Amsterdam

Fondly referred to as UvA, (oo-va), The University of Amsterdam is a vibrant, international university destination for our globally minded students and one of the largest comprehensive research universities in Europe. Additionally, Amsterdam was ranked 11th out of 200 cities worldwide in Mercer's 2015 ‘Quality of Living’ Survey.

Lifestyle aside, UvA’s Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics Program (PPLE) is a premier  program for students seeking to solve the problems of the world by escaping the mindset that caused these problems in the first place. UvA’s PPLE mantra follows our very own career advice to York students. We should not be asking our students what they want to be when they grow up – rather, we should be asking students, what problems they wish to solve when they grow up. The PPLE College combines these four disciplines into one Bachelor’s programme. Students with a passion for international studies/relations, history, economics, psychology or politics should inquire about this unique program.
