Students who have submitted an application to McMaster engineering should consider applying for either the Hatch or Dean’s Excellence Entrance Scholarships.

Two Hatch Scholarships (valued at $32,000) are awarded annually to exceptional students entering the engineering program.

Four Dean’s Excellence Entrance Scholarships (valued at $10,000) will be given to exceptional students entering engineering, computer science or technology programs. Twenty-four awards of $7,500 are also available.

In addition, one hundred Undergraduate Summer Research Awards, funding full-time paid research positions, will be available for incoming undergraduate students who apply for these scholarships.

Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of academic excellence (an admission average of at least 95%), demonstrated leadership experience, and involvement in extracurricular and service activities.

The deadline to submit the application is March 6; the online form can be found here.  Two letters of reference are required. On-campus interviews will be held for top-ranked candidates.

Engineering applicants who participated in a SHAD program are encouraged to consult the same website and apply for a $1000 scholarship.
