Dalhousie University - Some Programs of Note
The Medical Sciences program is designed to cater to students interested in a variety of fields related to health care. This is an excellent foundation for graduate school or professional programs in medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy. Core science courses are supplemented with specialized training in a number of areas, including preparation for the MCAT. The estimated that the mark cut-off for this program was 95%. More here.
 
The Ocean Sciences program at Dalhousie is now open to undergraduate students as a full major. More information can be found here.
 
The Fountain School of Performing Arts offers music and theatre students a recently renovated practice and performance spaces and generous scholarships. More here.
 
The Law, Justice, and Society program provides an introduction to the study of law, an overview of the Canadian legal system and an opportunity to examine the role of law in society from the perspectives of different disciplines. More here.
 
McMaster Health Sciences and Business
Students who complete two years in science or health sciences at McMaster University will now have to opportunity to apply for a Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization Bachelor’s/Master’s program. Students will complete the final two years of their undergraduate degree and then proceed into a course-based 12-month master’s degree that includes a 4-month internship in the health sciences sector. There will be an emphasis on experiential and team-based learning. Course offerings will include drug discovery and development, applied marketing, accounting for decision-making, and laboratory skills. Details are here.
 
University of Southern California The World Bachelor in Business (WBB) 
This is an interesting partnership among business schools at the University of Southern California, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Universita Commerciale Luigi Bocconi in Milan. Over four years of study, a class of 45 students will live on three continents where they will learn from internationally renowned teachers and scholars and explore diverse cultures. Students may apply for the program through any one of the partner institutions. For more information, click here. Students who wish to be considered for admission must apply by December 1. Huron University College’s Harvard Business School
Huron University College became the only university in Ontario to establish a partnership with Harvard Business School’s HBX CORe program, allowing its students to earn a Credential of Readiness from Harvard University. The HBX CORe program is a primer on business fundamentals built around the case method of instruction in Business Analytics, Economics for Managers, and Financial Accounting. Read more here.
