The Grade 3s have had an exceptional week full of hands-on learning experiences!
On Wednesday, we had an amazing day learning about the Iroquois longhouses at Crawford Lake. We hiked around Crawford Lake, learned about how the First Nations used their natural resources to make medicine, food, shelter and play games. We also learned about how they lived in their longhouses as a whole family with as many as 100 family members from the matrilineal side. Thank you to our parent volunteers - we couldn’t have done it without you! See here for pictures from our amazing day.
This week, your child was assigned:
Reading - at least 60 minutes throughout the week to be recorded in their Home Folder
Math - Problem of the week (POW) focusing on place value.
**Please initial your child’s home folder on the agenda page and sign their weekly reading log. Next week, we will begin sending home a math problem of the week. Should your child have any questions or need support, please do not hesitate to contact their homeroom teacher.
This week in Art, the Grade 3s worked toward finishing their self portraits. They painted their wood panel with acrylic paint and will add small details next week with Sharpie marker.
In PHE class we finished off our team building unit. We learned to be good communicators, listeners, problem solvers and to work as part of a team.
