Grade 3 - September 22 / 2017

Thank you very much to all of our parent volunteers on our two field trips this week. We could not have done it without you! Both trips were a huge success. The benefit of having them together is that we can now carefully compare these two early Canadian communities (early settlers and First Nations) while they are fresh in our minds.

Each Monday, your child will be expected to bring back their Reading Log and their math “Problem of the Week.” They are both housed in a yellow duotang. We will give out a new math problem each week.

This week in Inquiry, we have been delving into the lives of early settlers and First Nations people in order to create a journal entry of our own.

This week in math, we have focussed on representing 2- and 3-digit numbers using Base 10 materials. This week’s homework builds on the students’ understanding of this concept.

Students learned how to sign into the AIM portal in French class this week. Please follow the instructions below to login at home. Students, particularly those who are new to French and/or the AIM program, are encouraged to practise the actions a few nights each week.
