Grade 4 - February 22 / 2019

REMINDERS

The ever-changing weather has resulted in wet pants and socks after recess. We suggest packing an extra pair of socks in case they need to change midway through the day.

Students should also be packing their own bag each day and bringing their agendas.

HIGHLIGHTS

We are continuing with our measurement unit, exploring time and money. Students are encouraged to help practice at home. Ask your child to help you make change for a bill or purchase or ask them elapsed time questions using real life situations. For example, we leave for piano lessons at 6:15 and get home at 7:45. How long did it take us?

We had a great time at Medieval Times today. Students enjoyed the exciting show and were able to see first hand some of the traditions of Medieval England.

We will get back to spelling next week. The spelling words will connect to our current unit. Students will be given a list on Monday.

French

Students are strongly encouraged to sign into the AIM Portal at home to practice their lines for the upcoming filming of our play “Louis la grenouille.”

PHE

This week in PHE, we completed our target games unit. We finished up with learning how to play Spikeball and using skills such as hand-eye coordination and agility. Next week we will be expanding our knowledge of how to make healthy food choices. We will also be beginning our territory games unit.

Congratulations to the students who participated in the CISMF Junior Choir rehearsal at St Andrew’s College. Tickets went on sale on Tuesday, so I hope you all managed to purchase your two tickets for the concert on April 7th. There will be more seats released once choral numbers are confirmed, so I will let you know when more tickets are available. The next rehearsal off-site will be on April 5th. Next week we begin the CIS Winter Classic Rhythm Rocks contest online. Students are ready and excited!
