Grade 5 is off to a fantastic start!

Community Building and working as a team were the focus of our week.

We will be using Chromebooks for many aspects of our inquiry program this year.  We are looking forward to a lot of fun and exploration.

In math we will be starting the year with an exploration into Number sense, place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. It will be exciting!

We started the year with community building work and will be moving into How We Organize Ourselves next week.

This week in Art, the Grade 5s learned all about contour drawing. They practised regular contour, continuous line contour, and blind contour. Students then created a giant self portrait using their new skills.

Looking Ahead

Grade 5 students will perform their first song as a grade five choir on Friday September 28th as part of our Junior School Assembly focussed on Citizenship. Parents are welcome to attend.

Junior Choir will commence on Thursdays (new day this year) from 10.00-10.45am. All students in grades three, four and five are welcome to attend. The first rehearsal will be on Thursday September 27th and will run for all three terms.
