JK - May 16 / 2019

The students in JK are preparing for their Learning Celebration! They are so excited to share their learning about the parts of a plant, the needs of a plant, and the conservation of plants.

We continue to explore measurement through non-standard units, as it pertains to our students. We are beginning to explore weight, capacity, and volume through exploratory play and sensory materials. Stay tuned!

In the PHE, this week the JK students started a track and field unit. We worked on our running skills making sure to run on the balls of our feet, pumping our arms, high knees, looking directly ahead and running in a straight line.

In French, the students were filmed performing the play, Petit poussin. Please follow the link to view the play.

In Music, the JKs reviewed beat and rhythm by moving to different styles of music. The students also reviewed their spring songs for the JK Celebration next week!

This week in Art, the JKs looked at rug designs from around the world. They created their own design using lines, shapes, and patterns. They first used Sharpie marker and then painted their carpet with watercolour paint.

Before Care

A gentle reminder that Before Care does NOT start until 7:30 AM.  There is no supervision before that time.
