YLCC SPARK Leadership Conference
On Friday, June 1, the current Middle School Student Council members and the newly elected Grade 8 Leaders and House Captains, along with Ms. McParlan and Ms. Tessier, attended the Youth Leadership Camps Canada Leadership Conference at Canada’s Wonderland. Students engaged in leadership activities and were inspired by a variety of guest speakers and presenters who spoke about the qualities of being a strong leader. They also got to experience some free time in the amusement park. A great day was had by all!
2018/2019 Laptop Information
Yearly Laptop Software Refresh - Grade 8 - 11 Students
Returning students (Grade 8-9-10-11) who are not purchasing a new laptop must bring their laptop to the IT department to be updated and refreshed with the latest software, drivers and patches. We are now ready to refresh laptops for next year so students are encouraged to bring their laptops to IT as soon as possible. It takes only a few hours to refresh a laptop so we encourage all students to do this while they are in school (we can provide loaner laptops) so they don’t have to come in over the summer. This can be done at any time from now until the start of the next academic year. Students are responsible for backing up all their data to Google Drive using Google Cloud Sync.
Computers can be dropped off during the following times:
- Mon - Thurs: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Fridays: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
** IT is located on at the 1320 Yonge campus on the 3rd floor

Class Parent Recruitment for 2018-19
We are ideally looking for 2 parents per class (4 per grade) to act as a liaison with the school for various roles and events. For example, class parents perform a key role in helping to organize class parties, treats for teachers and parent socials. Class parents will also liaise with the administration on any issues presenting to their grade. While we welcome the involvement of all parents, our goal is to identify 2-4 parents per grade to consistently liaise with the administration.
If you are interested in becoming a class parent, please fill this form and if you have questions about the role please email firstname.lastname@example.org. The school will be in touch with you in June.
