Communication Pathways

As school routines have established you may be receiving communication called TRAIL (taking responsibility and independent learning) mail from your son /daughter about a recent summative (test, assignment, presentation) task and/or behaviours that teachers would like to share with you and enlist in your support. The TRAIL email is sent to the HR teacher, counsellor, subject teacher and parents.  Usually no response is required.

Here is a reminder of the communication pathways if you have a particular concern:
Issue: Social - emotional - psychological/ school operations/ executive function:  Homeroom teacher
Issue: Academic matters : Subject teacher

When matters require greater support, the homeroom/subject teacher will bring the issue to either the counsellor, Glen Blair or to the Learning Strategist, Jennifer Robertson.  When the matter is on-going or severe (i.e. bullying) the Principal, Helen Gin will be notified.

Colours Week Oct 22-26

A senior school leadership initiative to bring spirit to our days, starts next week with a Colour Clash.  Middle Schoolers are allowed to show their spirit by swapping an article of clothing with a coloured item.  See the presentation rules here.  Students who are wearing non-sanctioned items not part of the colour scheme will be warned on Monday and then subsequent infractions will be documented as a uniform infraction.

Post Halloween Candy Drive!

We are thrilled to announce that we’ve teamed up with Forest Hill Orthodontics to join their Swap your Sweets Candy Drive.  The Middle School is joining the Junior School, from Nov. 1st to Nov. 9th to collect all extra or leftover candy from Halloween in a box next to Ms Warren's desk. For every pound of donated candy, Forest Hill Orthodontics will donate one dollar to their JACKPOT.  The school who brings in the most candy will win the entire jackpot up to a maximum of $1000.00. The candy will be donated to less fortunate children overseas. Some of these children have never had candy before. This is a great way to save your teeth and share sweet treats with others.
