Students heard inspiring stories of persevering through mental health struggles at the Mental Health Awareness Assembly earlier this week, from both fellow students and performers from Unity Charity, who wowed the crowd with their incredible breakdancing and beatboxing performances.


Student Centred Interviews - February 26th

Please note that student dismissal on Tuesday February 26 is at 2:00 pm. However, if middle school students need care for the remainder of the day, they are welcome to work in the Learning Commons on the first floor until the end of day, 5:00 pm.

Middle School Toronto Symphony Orchestra Trip - February 27th

Middle School students will watch, listen and laugh-out-loud to an interactive concert about improvisation! Featuring Second City alumni, and hosted by Kevin Frank, this show demonstrates improvisatory techniques and includes performances of orchestral works that were created through improvisation.

Grade 7 Speech Competition

The grade 7 English students recently wrote and presented a memorized speech based on a topic of their choosing. Two students from each grade 7 class have been chosen to compete in the grade 7 Speech Competition. These students are: William Cheskes, Sasha Fedyushchenko, Emily Rosen, Grace Liang, Lauren Gori and Anjali Seshadri.

The student who wins this competition will move forward to the Sterling Hall Competition that occurs in April of this year.

Our next sessions for the Athlete Institute will be for High Performance basketball  led by NBA and International Shooting/Skills Development Coach, David Nurse. This is a great opportunity to come and learn and develop your basketball skills.If you partake in The York Basketball community you should sign up for at least 1 of these sessions that are being offered. Sessions are scheduled for Friday, March 29th to Sunday March 31st. You can sign up using the google form by clicking here.
