Friday, June 14, 2019 -  Invitation to a (renewed) Middle School Closing Ceremony

Parents, grandparents, and friends are invited to join us on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 9:00 am - 10:15 am to celebrate the end of the school year.  This year’s format will be slightly different than past years, with greater emphasis on learning, growth and community. The format will include grade speakers representing their class to share reflections of the year, and grade level presentations of learning from the curriculum or co-curricular programmes.  A special tribute will be made to the grade 8 students who have completed their middle school years and will be moving on to senior school. Two entrance scholarships to grade 9 will be presented at this time. Following this, next year’s grade 8 house captains are announced and a video montage of the school year will close the assembly.    Please note, as shared in a March communication, the major awards (York, Leadership, Fellowship, Dedication, Debating and Athletics) previously presented on this day have been moved to a spring recognition assembly on May, 27th. We hope that these changes will celebrate all students in a manner that is developmentally appropriate as they set off for the summer holidays.

Students will be dismissed directly from the ceremony.

Note about parking on Monday, May 27th - Spring Recognition Assembly

Further to the invitation sent to you about the Spring Recognition Assembly on Monday, May 27th, please note there is no parking on the school property.  To respect our neighbours, and minimize the traffic during the Monday morning drop off,   please use the green parking on Rosehill Ave or 'take the better way' with the TTC.

Grade 8 Science Fair

Congratulations to all the Grade 8 Scientist! Over the past 7 weeks, the grade 8 students have been designing, implementing and drawing conclusions on individual science fair projects. On May 24, 2019 they presented their final projects and conclusions to Middle School classes, parents and teachers. Each student has been on their own scientific journey and we are so proud of the hard work and effort that they have put into their learning. Congrats to All!

Grade 8 House Captains and Leaders for 2019-2020

Congratulations to the Grade 8 House Captains and the Grade 8 Leaders for the 2019/2020 school year. There was a wealth of qualified applicants apply this year - it was fantastic to see so many students taking an interest in leadership within student government.  We applaud all applicants for their risk and courage.

The House Captain candidates were chosen based on the quality of their application, an interview and their spirit at the House Lunch.
