SAVE THE DATE - JUNE 13 - COMPUTER DROP OFF FOR REFRESH & UPDATES

Middle School Parents - In an effort to streamline our summer laptop update and refresh process, the IT Learning and Innovation team is - for the first time - opening up drop-off on the last days of school. On June 13th, after the exam check-in, the Learning and Innovation team will be going to each Middle School classroom and offering the students the option to drop off their laptops. This will save them from having to coordinate this drop off to sometime over the summer. It will also save parents time not having to take time out of their summer schedule to pick it up. Please encourage your sons and daughters to drop off their computers on Thursday June 13th. We will email each participating family once the computers are updated and ready which likely won't take more than a week.

SAVE THE DATE - FRIDAY JUNE 14 - INVITATION TO A (renewed) MIDDLE SCHOOL CLOSING CEREMONY

Parents, grandparents, and friends are invited to join us on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 9:00 am - 10:15 am to celebrate the end of the school year. This year’s format will be slightly different than past years, with greater emphasis on learning, growth and community.

The format will include grade speakers representing their class to share reflections of the year, and grade level presentations on student learning from the curriculum or co-curricular programmes.

A special tribute will be made to the grade 8 students who have completed their middle school years and will be moving on to senior school. Two entrance scholarships to grade 9 will be presented at this time. Following this, next year’s grade 8 house captains are announced and a video montage of the school year will close the assembly.

Please note, as shared in a March communication, the major awards (York, Leadership, Fellowship, Dedication, Debating and Athletics) previously presented on this day were moved to our York School spring recognition assembly earlier this week on May, 27th. We hope that these changes will celebrate all students in a manner that is developmentally appropriate as they set off for the summer holidays.

Students will be dismissed directly from the ceremony.

Note about parking on Friday, June 14 - Middle School Closing Assembly

Regarding the Middle School Closing Assembly on Friday, June 14th, please note there is no parking on the school property.  To respect our neighbours, and minimize the traffic during the Friday morning drop off, please use the green parking on Rosehill Ave or 'take the better way' with the TTC.
