The “Nolan Classic” was a hit!

As a culminating celebration of the Middle Years Programme, Grade 10 students are to engage in a Personal Project, an activity where students use their personal interests to demonstrate the skills acquired in the five years of the programme. This year, Debate Captain Ben Singer, decided to organise and run his very own debate tournament, the “Nolan Classic”. This tournament was opened to all debaters in Grades 6, 7 and 8. Held on Wednesday the 24th, 19 Middle School Debaters debaters competed in two rounds - “This House would Ban Tests” and “This House Believes that Disney princesses are good female role models” - with a dozen Grade 10 students volunteering as judges.

In the end, Grade 7 students Shoshana Iny and Alex Baldwin were the third place team, Grade 8 students Anna Aber and Ben Daniels placed second and Grade 8 students Taira Mehta and Maddy Blanc were the winners of the inaugural “Nolan Classic”.
