AUTUMN BREAK

Dear Parents,

The autumn break is an opportunity for your child to do just that - take a break. Please encourage your child to recharge and reconnect with family and friends.

Our teachers have made a special effort to limit the number of assessments in the week following the break to allow our students to take some time away from their studies. We hope you enjoy quality time together.

All the best,

David

CHANGING OF THE GUARD - Ms ARAGONA GOES ON LEAVE

As many of you will know, Ms. Aragona is approaching her due date and will be heading off on leave next Friday, November 16th. We wish her well with her delivery.

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Ashley Pryor will be taking over the teaching of her grade 10 Science classes.

Please join me in welcoming Ms. McCauley to the school.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Take Our Kids to Work Day

Wednesday November 14th - All grade 9 students.

Take Our Kids to Work Day, is an annual career exploration event,  taking place on Wednesday, November 14th, 2018. Students in Grade 9 will spend the day in the workplace of a parent, relative, friend or volunteer host, where they can experience and learn about the world of work.

This event also gives parents the opportunity to discuss career prospects with their children, and allows businesses to share knowledge, experience and advice around education, career choices and relevant skills required in today’s workplace.

Parents of grade 9 students must be sure to submit the online Take Our Kids to Work Day form to give their consent for their child to participate in this event. This form is available on YorkNet and should be completed by November 7th.

Please note that there will be no grade 9 classes or programming in session on November 14th at The York School. It is our goal that our students will join the other 250, 000 young people across the country and take full advantage of this unique opportunity.
