SK - June 7 / 2019

The SKs had a blast at Track and Field Day! Thank you to those who dropped by!

We are wrapping up our unit on Where We Are In Place And Time. The SKs have picked a location and have made plans to build a model shelter to suit the climate and the land. We have also started making class books for next year’s SKs.

We are continuing to explore probability using the following terms: likely, unlikely, possible, impossible, certain.

Students have been learning a song about summer called Quand c’est l’ete. Please follow the link to view the song.

Quand c'est l'ete

Students reviewed three letter words as they reviewed I Can’t Spell Hippopotamus. The SKs also started a song-game called My Old Sow. Students have to make walls to stop the farmer as s/he tries to catch the sow.

The SKs used their imagination to turn a scribble into a beautiful work of art. Each student was given paper with a unique, curvy line. Students then used Sharpie marker to add lots of detail and colour to their drawings.

Thank you all for a terrific Track and Field Day! We hope everyone enjoyed themselves participating in the activities. The House spirit was fantastic! Go York!

Before Care Reminders

A gentle reminder that Before Care does NOT start until 7:30 AM.  There is no supervision before that time.

Looking Ahead

We have an exciting final week of school ahead of us with the Fun Day, Closing Assembly and Class Parties to look forward. The SK team is excited to celebrate all the learning and accomplishments from the year.

Please make sure to check The York School’s full school calendar regularly for updates, locations and times.
