SK - April 20 /2018

We will have a table at the Second-Hand Sale Uniform Sale with great items at greatly reduced pricing. We will accept cash or charge your student account. If you have any questions in advance please email me at

Thank you to all of the Grandpals and Special Friends who joined us at school today. The SKs were so excited to share with you what they do at school every day.

We are continuing to add and subtract numbers with hands-on materials. The SKs have started to explore measurement on their own in our doctor’s office. We will also be revisiting shapes as they come up in our investigation of shelters around the world. If you have not already, please email us a picture of your home to share with the class.

This week in Art, the SKs became architects! They are each designing a building that will exist in the future, 100 years from today. First they made a plan and created sketches for their building. They then used styrofoam, popsicle sticks, toothpicks, and pipe cleaners to build their buildings.

This week in Music, we sang a song that says goodbye to winter and hello to spring . . . hopefully there is magic in their singing and we will have warmer weather soon. We continued performing rhythmic patterns with percussion instruments.

In French, the students were practising the song Les cinq sens, as we are finishing up our unit on the five senses.

Looking Ahead

We are looking forward to our field trip to The Design Exchange on the morning of May 1st in connection with our unit about shelter.
