SK - April 27 /2018

Highlights

Thank-you for coming to Student-led conferences. We are very proud of the SK children and all they have been accomplishing this year. They were careful in selecting activities that they enjoy, and hoped you would enjoy also.

We looked at different kinds of building materials this week and the reasons why they would be used in building houses. We talked about natural and people-made materials, and what would be helpful for keeping houses cool, warm and dry.

We continued to practice our addition and subtraction this week, and wrote our journal entries as well as doing guided spelling.

In Music, the SKs continued to practice the rhythm cards using the bells and shakers. They are doing very well at this! We also moved to a silly song called, “Elephants Have Wrinkles”. As well, they reviewed the song, “Listen to the Water”.

In French, the students practised the song,  “Les cinq sens”, a song that they will perform at Student-led conferences.

Looking Ahead

We are looking forward to our field trip to The Design Exchange  in connection with our unit about shelter on the morning of May 1st.

We are also excited to be having Aryo’s mom coming on May 9th to talk to us about being an architect.

Reminders

May 1st marks the first day of summer uniform. Should your child choose to wear summer uniform, please ensure their uniform meets the school's uniform policy. Should your child wish to continue wearing their winter uniform, they may do that too, but again, must meet the uniform policy.
