SK - January 11 / 2019

HIGHLIGHTS

Welcome Back! We have had a fabulous week, and have enjoyed hearing about all of the activities your children participated in over the break.

We are excited to announce that we have two new students starting with us in SK this term. Eva Paise is joining SKA and Camilla Bubeyeva joins SKB.

This week we wrote in our journals,  worked on writing and reading our sight words and completed work in our handwriting books. We are also continuing with measurement, by looking at clocks and telling time to the hour and half hour.

French

In French, the students have been reviewing the vocabulary that they have been learning since the beginning of the school year. After a two week break, the students have been revisiting and practising basic French vocabulary to start the term on the right foot.

Art

In Art, the students have just completed their self-portraits for January 2019. We continue to investigate mediums, materials, and tools we can use to express our creativity.

Music

In Music, the SKs tapped out rhythmic patterns on a drum while we read through the Dr Seuss book, Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb. They also did a tone matching activity adding items to our snowman. They had to sing what the snowman would wear to be able to colour it on him. The SKs added maracas (shakers) sounds to snow words in a book called SNOW and showed how snow would move.
