SK - September 15 / 2017

Highlights:
What a wonderful first full week of SK we have had! The students are becoming more comfortable with the daily routines and expectations of their new grade. Thank you, parents, for supporting your child during the new drop-off and pick-up procedures. They are already beginning to show more independence and resilience.

Thank you for joining us for Curriculum Night. We hope we answered all of your questions and inquiries.

Thank you to those volunteers who joined us for the Terry Fox Run. Kindergarten was so excited to join the rest of the school for the day and having parents with us really helped!

This week in language, students learned how to use mat man to help draw people proportionally. They used this knowledge to draw beautiful self-portraits.

In Unit of Inquiry, students discussed what “organization” means and how it applies to their lives. Laundry was a common answer!

We have started our first math unit on data management and probability this week.
We are learning:

  • How to collect information and make sense of it;
  • How organizing objects and events helps us to solve problems.

This connects to our current unit of inquiry “How we organize ourselves.”
