It’s a unique video this week, I am standing outside the New York city public library. We have a team here to attend the Learning & the Brain Conference which has a focus on AI this year.

As it is National Volunteer Week, I would like to thank our volunteers who support The York School community.
This past week, I presented at the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools National Leaders Conference alongside Sarah Prevette, please read more below.
A big shout out to our film students for participating in the IB film festival earlier this week, with thanks to our Annual Fund donors for helping to support York’s film program.
Congratulations to all our students who performed in Senior School Arts night.
We look forward to the Middle School Drama Festival and Arts night next Thursday.
Wishing all the students going to the CIS Drama Festival next week all the best.
We wish a Happy Passover to those celebrating at sundown on Monday.
Monday is Earth Day and marks the start of Ecoweek at York on both campuses.
As we look forward to celebrating David Hamilton’s upcoming retirement, we are collecting contributions for his memory book, which will be presented to him at the end of the year. We would appreciate your contributions by May 10. Please click here to contribute.
CAIS National Leaders Conference
Head of School, Struan Robertson, sat down recently with Future Design School CEO Sarah Prevette to discuss their deep and ongoing strategic partnership, The York School’s vision for data, and what other leaders can learn from the school’s proven track record of success.
Athletics
The Blue Jays day
Our teams are in full swing. Varsity Badminton made its season debut this week hosting Bayview Glen and we have an action packed week coming up with all of our teams competing in the CISAA Arena.
As we move into the spring, we have a couple of exciting events for our community. First we have The York School @ The Blue Jays day. Awesome opportunity to see the Jays take on the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday, June 16, 2024 from the newly renovated West Jet Flight Deck. Tickets are $70 per person and will be charged to your TYS account.
Congratulations
I want to take a moment to congratulate all of our athletes who are doing great things outside of TYS. Firstly, congratulations to Gavin B in Grade 10 on being drafted by the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL. Gavin has worked so hard. Also, huge shout out to Sol and Delfina for winning a Provincial Championship with their Phoenix Club team. So much pride for our athletes and their accomplishments.
