DECA UPDATE

This past weekend, 9 York School students participated in the DECA Ontario provincial competition. The students qualified for this event by competing at a regional event in November. Students competed in various events in which they were provided with a business case study and tasked with developing a business plan within 20 minutes. Then they presented their business plan to a judge. In other events, students presented a franchising business plan which included a written paper and a 15 minute business pitch for investors. These students were excellent representatives of The York School and had some strong results. In particular, students Molly and Avantika placed within the top 9 in the province and have qualified for the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Orlando, Florida at the end of April. Congratulations to everyone who participated – and special congratulations to Avantika and Molly.
