ATHLETICS
What a fall season! A huge thank you to our community, coaches and athletes. Part of our TYS athletics culture is “Daily Celebrations” meaning we are grateful for the athletic opportunities we have at our School.
Our winter season has begun and rosters are beginning to be formed. Expect welcome emails and communications for each team to happen in the next two weeks.
Our fall season was absolutely outstanding. Our Varsity Girls Basketball and Junior Varsity Boys Volleyball teams were crowned CISAA Champions, while our U14 D2 and U14 D3 earned both silver and bronze medals respectively.
We are hyped for the winter and have some awesome events coming up. Whether it is Raptors Night or the first ever Triple Header “Friday Night Lights” this winter… let’s keep building our next level community.
To finish, sport and physical activity have so many benefits. That being said, one that we sometimes lose sight of is the link between sport/physical activity and academic achievement. Balance always. Have a look at the following video: Sport and Academics
And finally, “Get up in the Six” is back. This is a podcast I started during Covid as a passion project, but it has turned into so much more. This week, for the first time ever we had Alumni on the podcast. Julia Murmann 20’, a TYS G.O.A.T and legend provided us with a great episode. Julia is a member of U of T’s women’s volleyball program and Team Canada. Huge thanks to Jules and Grace Plumpton-Hill (G-Plump) for the episode. Get Up - Episode 18 - Julia Murmann
Let’s continue to “Dominate on the Daily”.
