ATHLETICS

We are heading into a weekend where we all reflect, enjoy some amazing food and practice gratitude! I am always thankful for sport — it is absolutely amazing. As an athlete, I was always thankful for my coaches and my mom, who always watched my games. As a coach, I’m grateful for the experiences and learning that sport always provides.

I encourage you to take some time this weekend to be grateful for sport. Watch this great video:

Our teams continue to rep TYS with pride. We wish Sam W. in grade 11 good luck as he is off to Timmins, Ontario to participate in OFSAA (provincial championships) for Golf; and to our Varsity Boys Soccer team as they will rep TYS at CAIS Soccer at St. Andrew’s College from October 16 to 19.

Happy Gratitude Weekend!

Presented by Jake Ernst, Straight Up Health

Today's parents are faced with an unprecedented challenge: to parent and raise their kids in the age of the internet. Many of today’s kids are constantly online and many parents are growing concerned about the impact this is having on kids and their wellbeing. In this session, we’ll talk about the number one factor that impacts whether or not kids get hooked by their device, what apps and websites parents should know about, how to avoid common digital parenting mistakes, and how to strike a balance between digital safety and digital freedom.
