MESSAGE FROM STRUAN ROBERTSON, HEAD OF SCHOOL

Dear York School Community,

  • Thanks to our new families who were able to join us at our Head’s and Principals’ breakfasts earlier this week.

  • If you haven’t yet received your copy of the Year in Review, you will receive it in the mail soon. 

  • Annual Fund - please note the Board of Directors has committed to match your gifts and double your impact!

  • Thank you to the YPA for the delicious treats for teachers and staff this morning!

  • Grade 6 students and their families are invited to First Note Night on Thursday, Oct 12.

  • AGM announced - Wednesday, October 25 at 5:30pm.

  • The York Shop on the 1320 Campus will be open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11:30am - 12:30pm for in-person shopping.

  • We are excited about our Homecoming game today and cheering on our varsity girls basketball team.

  • Happy long weekend everyone as there will be no classes tomorrow and on Monday.

ANNUAL GENERAL AND SPECIAL MEETING

The York School Annual General and Special Meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 5:30pm ET. The meeting will be conducted online. You will need to register in advance to get the virtual meeting link. Please Log into Yorknet to review the Notice of Meeting and register to attend the meeting.

For those parents/legal guardians who have completed your Designation of Members of the Corporation Form, an email will be sent to you on Tuesday October 10, 2023 to invite you to submit your questions and sign and deliver a proxy if desired. If you have not submitted your Designation of Members of the Corporation Form, please Log into Yorknet to complete your Form (which can be found under school forms).

Students and families are invited to join us today for our 2nd annual Homecoming celebration! 

The game will start at 4:30pm and all are invited to come out and cheer on our Gladiators!

Following, there will be an alumni reception for the classes of ‘20-’23.

ATHLETICS

As we prepare for a weekend of gratitude. We are thankful for our athletes, coaches and community on the daily. This week was full of highlights from all three divisions with athletes participating on the soccer pitch and basketball courts. Our Varsity Boys soccer team picked up its first win of the season versus Greenwood while our Varsity Girls Basketball team moved to 2-0 on the season beating both Ridley College and TMS.

Gratitude is so important in sport and the game of life. This is a great little clip of college basketball legend Mike Kryszewski and his approach to gratitude. Duke Coach and Gratitude

  • The York Shop will be open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from October 2, 2023 to December 15, 2023 for in person shopping.

    11:30am to 12:30pm
