DECLARATION OF MEMBERS OF THE CORPORATION
(TIME SENSITIVE Please complete by Monday September 30)
In preparation of the upcoming Annual General Meeting our records indicate we are still missing forms from certain families.
The York School is a corporation existing under the Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010 (Ontario) (the “Corporation”). The by-laws of the Corporation provide that parents and legal guardians of a registered student at the School are Members of the Corporation subject to a maximum of two Members for each family with one or more registered students. Members are entitled to vote at Member meetings of the Corporation, including the annual general meeting which typically occurs in October of each year.
We have requested that you complete this form to identify and confirm the up to two Members for your family. We requested that you coordinate with all parents and legal guardians in your family to ensure that everyone agrees with the up to two Members you designate. Both Members that you designate are required to sign in to their respective YorkNet accounts to sign this form. The form will not be completed until both parties have signed.
Location of this form:
If you have any questions, or wish to change your designation at any time in the future, please contact Kimberley Benoit, Board Secretary at kbenoit@yorkschool.com.
Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.

Parenting in the Digital Age: Virtual Parent Webinar
Presented by Jake Ernst, Straight Up Health
Today's parents are faced with an unprecedented challenge: to parent and raise their kids in the age of the internet. Many of today’s kids are constantly online and many parents are growing concerned about the impact this is having on kids and their wellbeing. In this session, we’ll talk about the number one factor that impacts whether or not kids get hooked by their device, what apps and websites parents should know about, how to avoid common digital parenting mistakes, and how to strike a balance between digital safety and digital freedom.
ATHLETICS
TYS Athletics is in full swing. Coming off a successful weekend hosting “The Volleyball Combine”. We look forward to hosting David Nurse and Kelly Olynyk of the Toronto Raptors this upcoming weekend.
Our U14 and Varsity boys Volleyball teams opened up league play with wins versus Royal St.George’s and Lauremont School.
Our Varsity X-Country team opened its season this week while our JV Girls Basketball continues to compete at a high level. Huge shoutout to JV runner Selma N for winning the first race of the season!
We continue to want to amp up our recreational athletic programs. Our 3 v 3 Basketball and Girl Power Fitness programs are off to a great start. Yoga is on Wednesdays from 7:30am to 8:30am and this Friday will be the first Friday for our Community Bootcamp!
One of our TYS Community Coaches Danilo Djuricic, is offering some amazing seminars for parents. Danilo is an NCAA D1 athlete who played basketball at Harvard and has a wealth of knowledge to offer. Take a look!
Finally, as we approach National Day for Truth and Reconciliation… I am reminded of a great platform and podcast at our school “Get up in The Six”. I am posting one of our most powerful and entertaining episodes with Dallas Soonias. Dallas is a former National Team Athlete with our men’s volleyball program with Indigenous roots. His perspective is absolutely awesome!
Leeet’s GO TYS!
