BEYOND YORK - OCTOBER 5, 2023
UPCOMING University
Visits
Here is a list of the upcoming University visits:
Grade 12 Students: The Ontario University Application Centre is open, and some students have begun submitting applications. Please know, however, there is plenty of time to get applications in before the December exams. Students are reminded to book appointments with their counsellor to continue conversations about university choices and programs. Students are encouraged to meet with their counsellor to initiate the application process for any school in Canada to ensure all parts of the application are filed correctly. Supplemental responses for Canadian applications will be found in the student’s university account once an application has been submitted. UBC is the only Canadian university that asks for a personal profile (short answers) to be completed with the submission of their application. The University Counselling Office will remind students of supplemental due dates, but students are ultimately responsible for meeting deadlines. All students are encouraged to share drafts of personal statements, Common Application essays and supplemental responses for feedback.
The York School is excited to invite you to an information session presented by representatives from Syracuse University, Union College, Hamilton College and Colgate University on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 7:00pm. A Q&A session will follow the presentation. Learn more about academic programs, campus life and the admission process of each school located just south of the border! REGISTER HERE
Canadian universities are posting dates for Open Houses. Please check this live document and plan to visit an open house or book a campus tour. Open houses allow you to learn about specific programs, talk to current students and perhaps even have a meal on campus. Campus tours are running regularly at most universities.

Every Faculty of Arts & Science student at the St. George campus belongs to a college – a friendly and supportive community of students and scholars. The college system dates back to U of T’s earliest days and is at the heart of the Arts & Science experience. Students can indicate their college preferences when they apply and many are unsure about which colleges to select. To help applicants better understand the college system, the Faculty has developed a self-guided virtual tour of each of the seven colleges, where you can explore their unique spaces, histories, cultures and traditions, as well as the helpful services they offer.
