WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Drop Off/Pick up updates: No changes in drop-off/pick-up for the coming week.
Absence/ Late: As we near the end of the school year, frequent absences/tardies can make it challenging for students to stay on top of their learning and maintain a strong sense of connection with their peers. We value your partnership in making the most of the final weeks of the school year full of learning opportunities.
York’s 2025 Grandpals and Special Friends Day
We are excited to host York’s 2025 Grandpals and Special Friends Day at our Junior School Campus. This annual celebration acknowledges the important and unique role that extended family and friends play in the lives of our youngest learners by inviting grandparents and other friends or family members to join us for some learning and fun.
Please register on behalf of the Grandpals and Special Friends that will be joining your children for this event, or forward this message so they can register themselves. Due to capacity restrictions, we can only accommodate two guests per student. If you have more than one child attending York’s Junior School you will need to register for each applicable session.

Fun Book
Please send your child’s completed March Break Fun Book back to school by Friday, April 4 to hand in to their homeroom teacher. These books will be included in our Junior School Time Capsule to celebrate York’s 60th Anniversary. Students are aware that this is a House challenge and are eager to learn which House has the best participation and returns the most books.

CISMF: Music Festival 2025
Saturday, April 5, 3:00pm - 5:00pm at Roy Thomson Hall
This annual celebration of music, running for almost four decades, features choirs and bands — jazz, symphonic, concert and more from 30 participating schools — all culminating in a mass finale with a well-known guest conductor. Join us in honouring our talented music students from Grades 3-12 as they get ready to take to the stage in this year’s performance. For those students performing, please note:
It is important to note that this is a full day event that begins with a dress rehearsal.
Ms Holdyn Bly and Ms Maria Sheriff will be chaperoning the students.
Students will need to bring a water bottle, packed lunch and nut-free snacks. They are also encouraged to bring a quiet game or book to read while we are waiting.
Parents are responsible for dropping their child off at Roy Thomson Hall at 10:45am at the artist’s entrance at the south end of the building at Wellington Street to meet Ms Bly and Ms. Sheriff.
Students are required to wear their winter uniform (green long sleeved shirt and grey pants or skirt with black shoes) for the performance.
Please review Grade 3-5 Junior Choir CISMF Concert April 5 2025 VO Form for all of the details required for this trip.
