Forest of Reading

The Junior School Library is excited to announce the 2025 Forest of Reading program! The Forest of Reading is a Canada-wide program that encourages children, teenagers, and adults to read the best of Canadian literature and vote for their favourite titles. You can find more information about the Forest here and on our York School Forest of Reading guide

The Junior School will be reading through the ‘trees’:

Students are encouraged to read at least 5 titles from their respective trees to be eligible to vote and to track their reading progress. This year, Gr. 5 students who have read the minimum 5 books and voted will also have the opportunity to attend the Forest of Reading Festival down at the Harbourfront Centre in May!

Please note that while the various book lists have been carefully curated to suit the age and grade level by publishers and librarians, some titles deal with more mature themes. If you have any questions concerning the content, please feel free to contact Gemma Larcina.
