STUDENT LIFE & BELONGING
HALLOWEEN PHOTOS
Thank you again to the 80 parent volunteers who helped with our incredible Halloween festivities. From decorating, to supervising the parade route, to taking photos of the amazing costumes or running our activity stations, you were all instrumental in making this year’s celebration a success. Your ongoing partnership and support of the student experience is greatly appreciated. Please enjoy the many photos capturing our day together in the folders below. Access to the parent folder of photos is available to parents/guardians who have a registered email address in YorkNet. Enjoy!
REMEMBRANCE DAY ASSEMBLY GR 1-5 Assembly Tuesday, November 12 & JK/SK Assembly Thursday, November 14
At our Remembrance Day assemblies, students will reflect on those who have served, and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace.
The students will learn first-hand from Major Jennifer Causey about the contributions of those currently in the armed forces and the importance of remembering the sacrifices of Canadian soldiers.
The Primary and Junior choirs will perform and our thoughts will be with all those affected by war right now in the world and that our hope is for peace.
YORK REMEMBERS ART INSTALLATION
All JK - Grade 5 students will also collaborate on an art installation symbolising hope and peace. With painted and construction paper handprints, we are creating a wreath of remembrance together with the message, “York Remembers, Thank you for your service.”
