Halloween Parent Volunteer Sign Up

We have a frightfully fun Halloween planned and need help from our parent community. If you are interested in volunteering, please share your Halloween availability on this form Monday, October 31 - Halloween Parent Volunteer Sign Up (various times) by the end of day Tuesday, October 17. Everyone who submits this form will receive an email on Thursday, October 19 as it is possible that interested volunteers will outnumber available spaces. Thank you in advance for giving your time to support the student experience at York.

SAVE THE DATE - HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARADE Tuesday, October 31

Join us for our annual Halloween costume parade (Weather permitting). On the morning of Halloween, Tuesday, October 31, parents are invited to join us after drop off (from 8:15am - 9:15am) at Yorkminster Park across the street from our school. Students will parade around the perimeter of the park and parents are invited to take photos and enjoy some refreshments as we embrace the full spirit of Halloween. We hope you can join us for this spook-tacular event!

RECORDERS FOR Grade 3-5 MUSIC

In Music class, we learn how to transfer musical skills and knowledge from our bodies to different instruments. In grades 3-5, students will be starting to include the recorder in music classes and in preparation for our upcoming Junior School Harmony Concert on Thursday, December 14 10:15am - 11:15am. The school provides one recorder to all Grade 3 students in their first of playing the instrument. If students require a replacement in Grades 4 & 5, the school will purchase a recorder on your behlaf. The expense of $22.00 will be charged to student accounts.

York Scares Hunger Food Drive October 16 - 31

WHO: The York School JK-5
WHAT: A food drive collecting canned and nonperishable food items or make a monetary donation on our school’s Daily Bread Food Bank Donation Page. This service initiative is also a House Challenge in the Junior School. 
WHEN: Starts on Monday, October 16 and ends on Tuesday, October 31!
WHERE: Students are asked to put their food donations in their coloured house box located in the Gathering Place.
WHY: To work together to end hunger in our communities and help our neighbours who need it most!
