YORK SCARES HUNGER FOOD DRIVE
MONDAY, OCTOBER 21 - FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1
We are off to a strong start in our efforts to collect donations for our annual York Scares Hunger Food Drive for the Daily Bread Food Bank. This year we are also supporting the Children’s Breakfast Clubs Charity with monetary donations to help them serve 5000 hot meals a week to elementary student in the GTA experiencing food insecurity.
The Fire House is in the lead with 143 items and the Water House is close behind with 133 items. This is a house challenge and students put their donations in their coloured house box in the Gathering Place on their way into school in the morning. We are proudly living our community service motto, “Take a Stand, Lend a Hand” as we work together to end hunger and help others.
HALLLOWEEN DECORATION TAKE DOWN
After Monday's amazing collective creation, it's hard to believe we are already talking about taking down our Halloween decorations. We are looking for a handful of volunteers for the morning of Friday, Nov. 1st from 8:30am - 10:00am to help us take down and neatly pack away decorations so they are organized and ready for next year.
If you're available, please complete this form by end of day October 29, 2024.
Everyone who submits the form will receive an email by October 30 as it is possible that interested volunteers will outnumber available spaces.
Thank you!
