Ruler tools and SEL:
The RULER program and SEL (Social Emotional Learning) are a cornerstone of how we approach well-being through a learning lens at the Junior School. At this Coffee Connects, we will discuss a variety of topics related to school life and home life and how the language and tools of our program promote belonging, self-regulation and emotional curiosity.
Meet with Amy Faba, Junior School Counselor, and other parents to learn the language and tools of the RULER and SEL program used throughout the Junior School.

HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARADE Tuesday, October 31
All parents are invited to join us for our annual Halloween costume parade (Weather permitting). In the case of inclement weather, we will move the parade indoors onto our costume catwalk with no parent audience. We will be sure to take photos to share with the community.
Parade will be held at Yorkminster Park across the street from our school (see route map)
Light refreshments and snacks will be served.
Our JK & Grade 5 Reading buddies will begin the parade at 8:30am and walk around the perimeter of the park.
Parents are invited to line the parade route to wave and take photos. Please refrain from walking with your child.
Students will head to the playground at the end of the parade to take a class photo and re-enter the school via the back door.
We hope you can join us for this spook-tacular event!
Students are invited to wear costumes all day.
Regular lunch hour and recess times will not be interrupted by any activities.
Loot bags of approved treats and non-food items will be provided to students by the YPA.
YPA parent volunteers will also be outside during all recesses to run fun Halloween themed games.
Chef Christian is preparing a Halloween themed lunch and a surprise sweet treat.
Our Improv & Drama Club is performing a short Halloween shadow theatre play, The Dark Rainy Halloween Night. We will be sure to videotape the performance to share it with families.
Our YPA Halloween Activity Afternoon hosted by parent volunteers will run from 11:30am - 3:00pm with engaging activity stations for all classes.
YPA Co-chairs will be in touch with parent volunteers to outline event timing and details for our annual Halloween Activity Afternoon.
