Junior School - OCTOBER 3, 2024

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Wednesday, October 9 - Lockdown Drill: If you anticipate your child may need additional support during our upcoming lockdown drill, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.

This year we have been using Seesaw more often to share what students are learning in all our Junior School classrooms. We hope that you have enjoyed seeing these posts. As part of their homework, some classes have also asked students to add to their Seesaw Learning Journals from home. This can only be done when logged in as the student. If you are logged in as a parent you will need to click on your name in the top left corner of the app  (or the website) and sign in as your child. Also, you will need the most recent version of the app (it  is purple with a white S on it) to switch between accounts. The old Seesaw Family app is no longer functional. Please reach out to Lara Jensen,Junior School Technology and Integration Co-ordinator,  if you need any help with this.

Today's parents are faced with an unprecedented challenge: to parent and raise their kids in the age of the internet. Many of today’s kids are constantly online and many parents are growing concerned about the impact this is having on kids and their wellbeing. In this session, we’ll talk about the number one factor that impacts whether or not kids get hooked by their device, what apps and websites parents should know about, how to avoid common digital parenting mistakes, and how to strike a balance between digital safety and digital freedom.
