WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Meet the Teacher, September 11, 2024 | 6:00pm - 7:10pm (This is a parent only event). 

  • Coffee Mornings: 

    • JK/SK: Monday, September 9, 2024 | 8:30am - 9:30am (Cafeteria)

    • Grades 1-3: Thursday, September 12, 2024 | 8:30am - 9:30am (Cafeteria)

    • Grades 4 & 5: Monday, September 16, 2024 | 8:30am - 9:30am (Cafeteria)

  • JS Edutalk: Assessment in the JS September 24, 2024

    • Morning session: 8:30am - 9:30am in the library 

    • Evening session: 7:00pm - 8:00pm online - link will be shared at a later date

  • Friday, September 27 Junior School Terry Fox Walk/Run, students, and teachers will participate in their classes by walking through the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery and onto the Kay Gardner Beltline (JK & SK 8:45am - 9:30am | Grade 3, 4 & 5  9:30am - 10:15am | Grade 1 & 2  10:15am - 11:00am)

  • The York School is a nut aware school. If you are sending snacks or lunches with your kids, please ensure that they do not contain nuts of ANY kind. Even a trace amount can pose a serious risk to students with allergies.

  • Co-curriculars and athletics launch on September 9, 2024.

  • Back to School Form: Please make sure that you fill this form on Yorknet if you have not done so yet. This is to list all adults authorised to pick your child(ren). Starting next week, we will only allow children to leave with adults mentioned on the form. If you would like someone else to pick your child(ren) or if your child(ren) is going with a friend/family member, please send an email by 12:00pm to attendance1639@yorkschool.com AND the homeroom teacher. 

  • If you are dropping at Glen Elm, please make sure you drive all the way to the front of the laneway allowing two cars to be there at the same time. Please stay in the car, we have staff members helping your child(ren) outside the vehicle. Please always remind your child(ren) to exit the car on the passenger’s side for safety. 

  • Please refer to the uniform guideline for accepted uniform on non casual days. All merchandise (sweaters and hats) sold at the carnival are for casual days only, they are not part of the school uniform.

  • Our school day starts at 8:30am. Students arriving after 8:30 am will be marked late.

The Junior School Library is inviting any parents who are interested in helping out at school to volunteer in the library. Parent Connects Coffee Socials

The Parent Connects Committee is putting together a parent coffee social open to all York families. The York School is a strong believer in community building and this get together is a great opportunity to bring both new and returning families together across all divisions (Junior, Middle and Senior Schools).

YORK’S 31st ANNUAL TERRY FOX WALK/RUN 2024 - SAVE THE DATE & FINAL DEADLINE FOR T-SHIRT ORDERS

On Friday, September 27 students and teachers will participate in our annual Terry Fox Walk/Run. We will walk through the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery and onto the Kay Gardner Beltline to support Terry's dream and raise money for cancer research. Families are welcome to join us for this community building event.

THE FINAL DEADLINE TO ORDER your Terry Fox t-shirts is 10:00am on Tuesday, September 10

Please use this form if you are interested in ordering a Terry Fox T Shirt for your child. Shirts will be distributed to student homerooms in time for the run.
