December 3 - 16, 2024 - Lost and Found
The lost and found items are displayed in the Athletic Centre for students to peruse.
Students are encouraged to take time to claim lost items.
Unclaimed items will be donated.
Locker and Desk clean-out
Over the next week, students will be given time to clean out their lockers and desks.
Students should take home anything they will need over the winter break e.g. winter coats and boots.
Tuesday, December 17, 2:30pm - Grade 6 Geometric Art Exhibition
The Grade 6s will be inviting their parents to view their geometric art exhibit in which they will explore angles, triangles, and transversals.
They will explore the global context of personal and cultural expression and use mathematics to analyze and create artistic forms of expression. You are invited to question whether art is more inspiration or calculation.
Athletics & Co-curricular - Cancelled
There will be no athletic practices or co-curricular clubs after school on Wednesday, December 18, and before and after school on Thursday, December 19.
Wednesday, December 18, 2024 - Ability in Action, Grade 8 Trip to Variety Village
As part of our Adaptive Games unit in Physical and Health Education (PHE), students learn about accessibility, adapted sports and inclusion.
Parents must complete the Variety Village waiver for their child to participate.
A hard copy of the signed waiver can be returned to their child's PHE Teacher or Ms Warren in the Middle School office. Alternatively, an electronic copy can be emailed to swarren@yorkschool.com.
Thursday, December 19, 2024, 1:25pm - Middle School Winter Wonders Challenge
Middle School students will participate in a Winter Wonder’s afternoon on Thursday, December 21 from 1:25pm - 3:15pm. Students will be dismissed at 3:15pm.
December 20, 2024 - January 5, 2025 - Winter Break (No Classes)
Classes resume on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Thursday, January 9 - Friday, January 10 - Club Photo Days
Monday, January 20, 2025 - Semester Two Design/Art Changeover
The last day of semester one is Friday, January 17, 2025.
The semester two changeover for grades 6 and 7 Design to Art will be on Monday, January 20.
MIDDLE SCHOOL 14th Annual Pinewood Derby Race WINNERS
Our Grade 7 students unleashed their creativity on the track and raced their custom creations at the 14th Pinewood Derby! From sleek designs to speedy winners, every car had its own story.
Congratulations to the Pinewood Derby 2024 winner Jack B., who claimed victory with his design "Trump Elite." Best Overall Design went to Sofia R. for her melodious machine "Albums," and Reese R. snagged Overall People's Choice for her holiday-themed "North Pole Navigator."

NEW CIRCLES ANNUAL WINTER CLOTHING DRIVE - Tomorrow is the Final Day!
Tomorrow, December 13, is the final day for students to bring in donations for our New Circles clothing drive. Collection bins are located at Reception and the Middle School Commons.
A reminder that we are looking to collect the following based on New Circles current client needs:
Gently Used: Winter jackets, Winter Boots, Men’s Clothing, Shoes (for everyone), Boys’ Clothes, Winter Accessories
New: Underwear, Socks, Diapers
