Save a Child’s Heart Fundraiser - NovEMBER 20 & 21

On Monday and Tuesday, students will have the opportunity to purchase heart-shaped cookies for $5 in support of the Save a Child’s Heart organisation.

Save a Child’s Heart is a global organisation providing free, life-saving heart surgery to children – regardless of where in the world they come from, their race, religion, gender, or financial means.

Operating out of The Wolfson Medical Centre outside of Tel Aviv, it was chosen by students in our Middle School community, as well as members of the Senior School student solidarity group, for providing access to care for children in Israel and Palestine, in particular, as well as 70 different developing countries.

Students will have the opportunity to hear more about this organisation on Friday in their homeroom classes.

Tables will be set up in the Middle School commons and cafeteria before school and at lunch for students and staff interested in supporting this initiative.

UNIQUE holiday celebrations

During the month of December, we are eager to celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures that make our community vibrant and diverse. This year, we invite you to join us in showcasing the beauty of our collective traditions by sharing your unique holiday celebrations. Whether it's a festival, a special ceremony, or a cherished family tradition, we want to highlight the diversity that makes our community so special. By coming together to showcase our various customs and celebrations, we can foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for the multitude of cultures that coexist within our community. Let's embrace this opportunity to learn from one another, and strengthen the bonds that make our community a truly remarkable place. If you are interested in sharing your holiday celebrations with us please create a short (under 3 minute) video to be showcased one morning in December through our York Reflects. Please share your videos with Shelley Gopal at sgopal@yorkschool.com by November 24, 2023.
