Thursday, November 21, 7:00pm - The York School Live & In Concert Music Night 

  • Students participating in co-curricular ensembles; concert, jazz bands and choir will be featured from the Middle School

November/December -Upcoming Optional Lunch Outs 

  • Grade 6’s will have their first lunch out on Thursday, November 21.

  • Grade 7’s have a Lunch out on Wednesday, November, 27 & Thursday, December 12.

  • Homeroom teachers will review the boundaries and rules with students

  • Grade 8 Students will continue to have an optional lunch out on Fridays 

November 28 - 30, 2024 - Middle and Senior School Play, Cinderella

  • November 28 & 29 at 7:00pm and November 30 at 2:00pm

  • The online box office will be open for tickets mid-November.

REMEMBRANCE & INDIGENOUS VETERAN’S DAY ASSEMBLY -
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 13

On Wednesday, November 13, we are honoured to welcome Lieutenant-Colonel Jaime Phillips to York to speak about her past and present service in Canada’s Artillery. LCol Phillips was the first female Artillery Troop Commander deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan in 2007. Recently, she has completed a peacekeeping mission in Mali and is currently working as Chief of Operations at the 4th Division Headquarters in Toronto.

Additionally, the Middle School and DP instrumental ensembles will perform and we look forward to the contributions of many student and staff speakers.

WELLBEING WEDNESDAYS

Our Wellbeing Student Leadership Committee has planned a series of community events for Wednesdays in November. Students and staff can look forward to connecting with one another as a way to engage in positive mental health strategies during the following dates and times:

  • Hot chocolate from 8:10am - 8:50am in the Cafeteria - November 13

  • Sticky Notes and Quotes @ Lunch in the Library/Learning Commons - November 20

  • Snow Flake Creation from 8:10am - 8:50am in the Library/Learning Commons - November 27

  • Sleep-in & York Spirit or Athletic Casual Dress Day - December 4

    • Middle School Homeroom starts at 9:30am

    • Senior School starts at 9:55am

YORK SPIRIT Events in November

As we move toward the grey skies of November, the student life leaders are looking for ways to keep spirit going at York. In addition to the Wellbeing Student Leadership Committee activities mentioned above, the following initiatives have been planned for our community:

  • November 15 - Falling for Fall Photography competition - submissions are due 

  • November 19 - Mario Kart competition at Lunch in the cafeteria

  • November 20 - Spoken Word Assembly

  • December 4 - First Home Game - Varsity Basketball vs. Crestwood @ 4:00pm *York Athletic or Spirit Casual Dress Day*
