STUDENT LIFE AND BELONGING

BEVERLEY SCHOOL SAYS
THANK YOU!

The students and staff at The Beverley School created a beautiful card and presented it to a group of our Grade 10 volunteers at last week’s visit. They are extremely grateful for the weekly support and donations that The York School community has given this year. In particular, our gifts have made their play space more accessible and supported student learning and self-regulation in the classroom.

Thank you to all our families who supported our winter fundraising campaign!

From the Class of 2027 - Will A, Hailey W, Maya S, Penn S and Madi S alongside Beverley’s Principal - Danjela Malobabic

PRIDE WEEK 2025

Next week we will celebrate Pride at York! The Belonging and Outreach student leadership committee has chosen PrideTO’s theme of: ALL IN as this year’s school focus.

Students and staff can look forward to a week of learning about what it means to be “All In” as an ally and how we can take action to be a more inclusive, indivisible, inviting and inspired community.

Please check out the daily schedule of events and casual days below as York goes “All In” for Pride!

ECO WEEK - APRIL 14 to April 17

The York School is celebrating Eco Week in two week’s time!

Week Long Initiatives:

  • “Anything But A Car!” - we are encouraging everyone to get to school using anything but a car

  • BYO Reusable Water Bottles and Travel Mugs

  • Environmental-themed movies in the Cafeteria during lunch

As you enter the school through the main entrance, we invite you to add a dot in your house colour to the Collective Action Wall in the Learning Commons for doing either or both of these actions!

Tuesday

  • Bake sale in the cafe during lunch and Middle School recess. Come by to grab baked goods and support an environmental charity!

Wednesday

  • Josh Fullan - Maximum city - will address our community at the morning assembly.

Thursday

  • Community Clean Up at lunch. Participants can choose to walk or jog in a small group as they pick up litter (it’s called plogging and it's a real thing!). You will be dismissed slightly early from class before lunch and return around 1:00pm. Sign up via this form by Friday, April 11.
