December Spirit Week - Monday 18 to Thursday 22
We are excited to end off an incredible term with our annual Holiday Spirit Week!
Students and staff can look forward to daily dress-down theme days as well as fun activities in the mornings and at lunch time.
All week long will be our gingerbread person hunt. Students and staff can look forward to finding the missing gingerbread people hidden around the school and place them back in their gingerbread house for house points!
As well, our community card station will be open and students are encouraged to send a message of cheer to a staff member or team within The York School as we strive to foster gratitude throughout this season!

Holocaust Museum Field Trip Opportunity - January 25, 10:45am - 1:00pm
Any students in Grades 9 - 12 who are interested in a tour of Toronto’s Holocaust Museum should fill out the form sent by Ms Fuss before December 20.
Our tour can accommodate 30 students and it will be the first to complete the form. The York School has made a donation to the Holocaust Museum in lieu of admissions fees. The cost of the bus (TBD) will be charged to students’ accounts.

Sunnybrook Hospital Pediatric, Family Practice and NICU Book Drive - January 8 to 19
As we head into the holiday season, you may be gifted some new children’s books and may be looking for a place to donate old ones, or some books that weren’t that loved... well look no further!
After the Winter Break, there will be a book drive in which all books go to the Sunnybrook Hospital Pediatric, Family Practice and NIC Units! Please note that we are looking for books that would be appropriate for ages 1 - 12 in gently used or new condition.
For every book donated, students will also earn house points. Students can donate books into their House coloured box in the cafeteria and Middle School commons to earn house points.
Thank you to Charlotte Y, ‘25, for creating this initiative and for the York School community’s support!
