York’s Middle and Senior school student leaders and teachers have been busy planning many festivities for our community this month! Please see below for key dates and information:
Middle & Senior School Ongoing House Challenges
Halloween Hunt - students and staff will find Halloween and Fall images scattered around the school. When they are found, they are to return them to their house box outside the Student Life & Belonging Office for points! The house that finds the most will win!
Halloween and Scary Movie Poster Competition - students guess the title of the movie posters outside the Student Life and Belonging office. Correct answers win, more house points!
Middle School Only Activities
Homeroom Door Decorating - October 23 - 30
Halloween Carnival in the GLAD Centre at Lunch - October 27
Pumpkin Carving at lunch in room 428 - October 30 and 31
Middle & Senior School Halloween Assembly and Additional Programming - October 31
Halloween Costume Catwalk Assembly at 9:05am - 9:50am
Students and Faculty are encouraged to dress up and compete at the assembly. Categories this year include: Most Creative Costume, Best DIY Costume, Funniest Costume and Best Team Costume
Additional Programming for students who are not attending the assembly will be provided in rooms 325 and 327
*Please ask your students to be especially mindful of their costumes for school this year. In the same way that we have educated our students about not misappropriating cultures in costumes, we would also request that costumes not have overly gory elements or violent imagery.

House Standings Update
Our Middle and Senior School students learned today all of their spirited engagement in our house program has garnered these current standings! Students also learned that house points are given out according to the 3 C’s - Curiosity, Community and Challenge. It’s been a great start for our 4 houses this year and we’re looking forward to more opportunities to participate in the House Program in November!
